What is Reiki (energy) Healing?

Reiki (Ray Kee) is a hands on healing practice that work’s well with the body’s energy.  It is safe, gentle and non invasive.  Reiki is an ancient hands on healing practice that has been around for thousands of years and more recently is growing in popularity in supporting other methods of medical, therapeutic and holistic healing.   This holistic approach promotes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing.

Reiki Practitioners are the connection between the healing energy and the client.    The approach has a holistic affect on all energies that affect humans, animals and anything in our natural world.  The intended result of receiving Reiki is a balanced and harmonious physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Reiki is being used today in clinics, hospitals and hospices all over the world to support health, wellness and life transitions.

What does a Reiki session look like?

You will lay on a massage table fully clothed and covered with a blanket and if you so choose peaceful music is played during the session.  The Reiki Practitioner will lay their hands on you in different positions  to deliver the healing energy.  If you prefer no touch the Reiki Practitioner can hover her hands above the different hand positions.  The Reiki Practitioner is the connection between you and the healing energy.

What can I expect to feel?

Each individual’s experience is unique unto them.  Reiki is very relaxing and oftentimes promotes a state of calmness within.  You may feel a warm or tingling sensation from Reiki Practitioners hands.  You may fall asleep during your session. Some people experience an emotional release or a sense of letting go of something that no longer serves them.  The beauty of Reiki is your body receives only what is needed.

Benefits of Multiple Sessions

The effects of Reiki are cumulative just like chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage, or meditation and prayer.  While you will experience wonderful effects from one treatment, multiple Reiki sessions can demonstrate significant improvement.

Is Reiki a Cure?

Reiki is a complementary healing technique that works well alone, or in conjunction with other treatments. Healing is often the result of gentle shifts in awareness, release of emotional patterns, achievement of new understanding, and daily practice.
